r/UKWeather Subreddit Rules

1

Don't post tabloid clickbait weather stories

Clickbait weather stories often posted/published by red-top tabloids are the bane of serious weather forecasters everywhere - please don't fall for them

Violation reason: Tabloid clickbait weather story
2

This subreddit is about UK weather

Please keep it on-topic

Violation reason: Not related to UK weather
3

Please be kind

Please remember, we are all just disgusting bags of poop and meat trying to navigate this terrifying existence. Please be kind.

Violation reason: Being unkind
4

No 'Isn't the weather crap today?' posts

We love moaning about the weather, and since it can often be worth moaning about - however we don't need identical posts about it on a daily basis

5

Please keep your conspiracy theories to yourself

This is a pro-science, pro-meteorology subreddit - conspiracies around chemtrails, global warming, HAARP etc. have no place here.

Violation reason: Conspiracy theories
6

No politics

It should go without saying, but weather isn't political. There are plenty of places to discuss politics, this isn't one of them.

7

No low-effort meme posts

Please, don't clutter the sub. Dead internet theory doesn't need to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Violation reason: Low-effort meme post
8

Please refrain from posting model runs that are 5+ days away

Please be mindful, especially if it's a GFS run showing record breaking heat or a 1987-style low pressure system. The GFS is known to overblow heat (including CAPE) and lows many days away, only for it to downgrade considerably as it gets closer - sometimes within as little as 48 hours. Cross-model agreement is essential when looking at model runs. Don't take any individual run from one model as gospel.

9

Big weather events - keep general chitchat in the megathread.

Arrange by new and treat it like a message board. This is an extension of rule 4. Would the post be more suitable for r/CasualUK or r/GreatBritishMemes?
