On November 6, 2025, founder Fed published "The Final Chapter for GummySearch" explaining the real problem: "we were not able to reach an agreement that aligns with Reddit's Data API Usage policies."
Reddit's commercial API pricing runs roughly $0.24 per 1,000 calls. A tool that continuously scans thousands of subreddits for conversations burns through calls at a rate no $29/month subscription can cover. Fed put the strain plainly: "that's hard to do when you are looking over your shoulder every day, wondering if tomorrow you get the axe."
