R1. Submission Guidelines
Post must have a some sort of relevance to Charles Schwab or the general investing world.
Post can be a question, discussion, or relevant news article and may not be:
- Non-English
- Generic, open-ended, or hypothetical questions
- News/information without a discussion or quote/summary
R2. Unhelpful or disrespectful behavior
We don't allow:
- Circlejerking or karmawhoring
- Posting purely for upvotes or humor
- Insincerity or dishonesty
- Trolling, loaded questions, loaded language, or provoking unproductive conversation
- Memes and low-effort pictures/videos
- Clickbait titles
- Excessive large, bold, or spaced-out-text
- Bots and bot summoning
- Novelty accounts that post "in character"
- Asking for upvotes or downvotes (or fewer upvotes or downvotes)
- Excessive profanity
R3. Asking for handouts
We don't allow asking for handouts. That includes:
- Asking (even indirectly) for gifts, loans, donations for yourself or on behalf of any organization or person(s)
- Any mention of a fundraising campaign even without a link
- Requesting a job or attempting to recruit prospective employees
- Asking for loan cosigners or soliciting for investors
R4. Politicizing
We don't allow:
- Moralizing issues
- Political discussions
- Political baiting
- Soapboxing
R5. Lawbreaking information
We don't allow:
- Suggesting another user perform illegal activity (or an activity that is illegal in most jurisdictions)
- Linking to illegal content or lawbreaking information
- Asking for advice on how to commit fraud, evade taxes, etc.
- Suggesting the use of piracy, warez, software cracks
R6. Personal attack on redditors or groups
We don't allow:
- Personal attacks:
- Raw criticism without any constructive feedback
- Name-calling, flaming, shaming, or otherwise harassing another poster
- Instructing a user to harm themselves or others in any way
- Abusive language
- Racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise bigoted remarks
- Retaliating in response to an attack or perceived affront
R7. Other bad behavior
- Doxing — Posting personal information, dox attempts, dox threats
- Harshness — Being intentionally rude
- Flooding — Making excessively frequent posts
- Duplicates — Reposting news and information
- Rabble rousing — We are not your personal army.
- Plagiarism — Not giving credit or quoting properly
- Missing — Disappearing after asking for help, posting on behalf of someone else with insufficient information
- Content policy violations
- Poor reddiquette
R8. Complaining or problems without any relevant information.
Do not just post complaining, this sub is user-driven and is not an official Schwab sub. None of the mods work for Schwab or have any association with Schwab besides being customers.
If you do not post information relevant to your issue, there is no way for anyone on here to guess or even help you understand the issue. Please include relevant information not vague complaints.
R9. Screen shots of portfolio value with no investing discussion or relevant information
Do not post a screen shot of your portfolio value with no other information or questions. If you want to post your portfolio and have an actual question about portfolio allocation or how to re-allocate that is fine
However just posting a random screen shot showing your portfolio with no relevant investing discussion or information is not allowed and post will be removed.
