Be respectful and constructive
No harassment. Keep discussions civilized.
No self-promotion outside monthly megathread
Posts that advertise, promote, or market projects, products, or services built on OpenRouter are not allowed outside of the monthly megathread. Links to repos, tools, frontends, or apps you created are not allowed outside of the monthly megathread.
No advertising or asking for alternative routers
Posts and comments advertising or asking for alternatives to OpenRouter will be removed. Multiple posts and comments from the same user will result in a permanent ban.
This subreddit is only for the discussion of OpenRouter.
Error 429 & 500 Spam
A 429 error means you are being rate-limited by the free model you are using. The free model is overloaded from excessive usage and high demand.
What to do:
- Stop sending requests
- Wait a few minutes
- Switch to another free model temporarily
A 500, 502, or 503 error means there is a problem on OpenRouter's end, such as an outage or server issue. There is nothing you can do but wait it out.
Free Model Spam and Complaining
Posts asking what free model to use will be removed. There is a convenient search bar at the top that you can use to look through old posts.
Posts complaining about a free model suddenly being removed, not behaving as expected, or censored will be removed. These are low-effort posts, and users should not consider free models to be a guaranteed service.
Stay on-topic & no spam
Posts must relate to OpenRouter, the API, supported models, or relevant integrations. Off-topic content and spam will be removed.
Please note that this subreddit is NOT for the discussion of physical routers. Visit r/networking for assistance. All posts discussing routers will be removed.
Bug reports & feature requests
For urgent issues, please also report them through official OpenRouter support (support@openrouter.ai) or the official Discord. This subreddit is for community help and discussion.
No reposts
Reposting the same thing multiple time is considered spam and will be removed.
Selling Accounts
Please do not attempt to sell your OpenRouter account via comments, posts, or direct messaging. Selling your account is a violation of OpenRouter's ToS per Β§7.13 and Β§7.14.
