1

Adhere to Reddit's rules

All posts and comments must comply with Reddit’s Content Policy; violations will be removed and may result in bans.

2

Be civil and respectful

Harassment, hate speech, slurs, or personal attacks are not allowed under any circumstances.

3

Keep it on-topic

Content must relate directly to this subreddit’s focus (Open WebUI, Ollama, OpenAI, and DIRECTLY related features or topics); far off-topic or political detours and other clearly unrelated content will be removed.

4

No spam or self-promotion

Referral links, fundraising, or repeated self-advertising require prior moderator approval.

5

Use descriptive titles and correct flairs

Titles should summarize your post clearly; clickbait, vague, all-caps, offensive, massively exaggerating otherwise misleading or harmful titles will result in the post being deleted. Flair your post correctly.

Violation reason: Use descriptive titles
6

Avoid low-effort posts and reposts

Frequently reposted material may be taken down at moderator discretion. If you have a question or want to discuss a topic, provide ample context and/or describe your topic/issue/discussion in great detail. Before posting a question, please spend a reasonable amount of time searching for existing questions that may provide an answer.

Violation reason: Avoid low-effort or reposts
7

Protect personal information

Do not share anyone's private or identifying details, including your own. If we suspect your post may be leaking your own or someone else's personal information, we will take it down to uphold privacy.

8

Uphold a constructive environment

Helpful bug reports (though, better open them on GitHub), feature suggestions, and respectful critique are encouraged and more than welcome! Hostile rants (e.g., "Why is this STILL not fixed?!", "Yet another useless feature and XYZ wasn't worked on, yay!") or similar abusive language will be removed and in case of recurring violation, may result in temporary or permanent bans. We want to uphold a constructive environment; and such hostile/hateful rants are not helpful.

Violation reason: Constructive Feedback Only
9

No Misinformation, Unverified Claims, or Astroturfing

Any factual claim must link a reputable source. Deliberately posting misinformation or otherwise spreading false information is strictly prohibited. Unsupported “trust me”-type posts, distorted data, or fake grassroots campaigns (astroturfing) will be removed and will very likely lead to a permanent ban. Mods can request proof, lock threads, and escalate temporary, up to permanent bans for repeat or coordinated offenders.

Violation reason: False/unsupported claim, astroturfing, or deliberate misinformation - credible source absent.
10

(Extreme) Off-Site Misconduct

SEVERE off-site behavior that violates our rules - can trigger a proactive ban here. This rule is used only in rare and extreme cases and is reserved for topics directly associated with Open WebUI. This rule is only used in circumstances where content that, if posted word-for-word in r/OpenWebUI, would earn an instant permanent ban - and is directly related to Open WebUI. One civil appeal via modmail is allowed within 48h; abusive or repeat appeals will be ignored.
