Show professional courtesy.

You can post anything from journal articles to memes, but be respectful to one another. Also follow reddiquette.

2

This subreddit is for professional discussion about the medical specialty of anesthesiology.

We welcome discussions about anesthesia from anesthesiologists in the USA, anaesthetists in the world, nurse anesthetists, anesthesiologist assistants, and other healthcare professionals. The spirit of the subreddit is professional discussion about the medical specialty of anesthesiology and its practice. There is no specific rule against layperson posts. However, as a heavily moderated sub, users may be banned for non-professional posts or if it is clear they have no professional knowledge.

3

Do not seek or provide medical advice or information here.

Only your anesthesiologist, who will be taking care of you and knows your individual needs and medical history, can answer all your questions appropriately. Consider visiting /r/AskDocs or /r/Anesthesia if you are seeking medical advice or information. You may be banned if you are an anesthesiologist/other health professional and provide advice or information to layperson questions. Users requesting medical information/advice will be banned.

6

Use user flairs or explain your background in text posts.

Posts that have no flair may be locked until OP posts flair.

7

No posts solely seeking advice on entering the field.

As an extension of rule 2, this is a place for professionals in the field to discuss it. This is NOT the place to ask questions about how to become an anesthesiologist, help with getting into residency, or to decide if a career in anesthesia (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Anesthesiologist Assistant) is the correct choice for you. This includes asking questions about residency application outside the monthly thread. Posts along these threads will be removed and users may be banned.

Violation reason: Rule 2 cont.

Examples: no advertising medical equipment, no job postings, no advertising test banks, no surveying users to get free data, no sharing free videos or podcasts that are driven by ad revenue. Basically includes all goods and services that the poster can benefit or profit from. Consult the mods if you have something really worth sharing. As a community of professionals, AI slop is not tolerated - we all have this very basic understanding through our training.
