r/TumblrWrites Subreddit Rules

1

Post must be a piece of creative writing!

Tumblr is a varied place, and there are all sorts of fun posts. However, this is a subreddit exclusively for examples of creative writing and storytelling. Would your post belong as part of a book? Is it effortful storytelling? If not, there are plenty of other subreddits for funny and interesting Tumblr posts that aren't creative writing. Mods will remove posts that do not follow this rule; it's our most important one.

Violation reason: Not an example of creative writing or effortful storytelling
2

Format post titles correctly.

The correct format of a post is: "Title - AuthorName(s) [Tag]" or "[Tag] Title - AuthorName(s)".

For example: "[N] The Girl Next Door - writerboy78"

If it is a collaborative writing piece between more than three authors, simply put "multiple authors."

If you cannot identify who would be considered an author, that's probably a sign that the post doesn't belong in this subreddit.

3

Flair Posts Correctly.

(1) NSFW posts must be marked as such.

(2) Examples of Tags:

  • Science-Fiction: [SF]
  • Fantasy [F]
  • Non-fiction [N]
  • Humanity Fuck Yeah [HFY]
  • Established Universe [EU]
  • Mythology [M]
  • Romance [R]
  • Miscellaneous [X]
Violation reason: Post incorrectly formatted
4

Don't be mean.

Content discriminates based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or politics.

Violation reason: Being mean.
