r/SmallYTChannel Subreddit Rules
Rule 1: Flair your posts / Get Lambda By Giving Feedback
Posts must be flaired. Posting your own videos With `[Feedback]` cost λ, and you need to give feedback to someone else first.
Posts with `[Discussion]`, `[Collab]`, and `[Meta]` do not cost any λ these posts can not drive traffic to your channel. Links are not allowed in them. Bypassing the link restriction with phrases like ‘my channel is @JohnDoe’ will result in removal.
For `[Collab]` flairs, some channel details or portfolio links on a known site (Imgur, google drive, etc) are allowed.
Rule 2: Engage with the community, don't spam / advertise, no Sub4Sub
We are a community here. This isn't a place to try and get a couple more subs quickly by link dumping. The λ system is in place to enforce this.
Asking for or suggesting Sub4Sub/View4View etc. is specifically not allowed. Any alternate phrasing will also be removed, such as ‘Let's support each other’.
You also can not ask for any form of engagement in the title or the post, for example ‘please like or subscribe if you enjoyed’
Rule 3: Follow both reddit and YouTube's TOS
Failure to do so could result in a ban from here and/or Youtube depending on the severity.
Rule 4: No unoriginal or low-quality posts
For more detail on this rule see the pinned FAQ
Discussion posts need to be for discussion and have a main question or topic.
Posts such as 'I just reached 100 subs', or 'I'm nearly at 500 subs' are considered self-promotion and will be removed.
Posts that encourage other rule breaks are not allowed. Ex, suggesting people leave their links in the comments isn't allowed, since it encourages free self-promotion.
In addition, If your post looks to much like a bot/ai mods can take it down.
Rule 5: Abuse of the bot
You are not allowed to try to break the bot. Doing any of the following may get you perma-banned:
- Creating another account to give yourself lots of λ
- Editing your flair to give the impression of having more lambda than you really have
- Asking around for lambda and/or upvotes
- Copy-pasting 'advice' to farm λ
Mods will also remove any ill-gotten gains.
Rule 6: "Lambda" in the title or similar phrasing
We've restricted the use of the word "lambda" in post titles due to increasing cases of people implying free or "easy" lambda. If you use alternate phrasing to bypass this such as ‘rewarding feedback’, the mods are at liberty to delete your post.
Rule 7: Please reward quality feedback only
You do NOT need to !givelambda if someone drops generic, low-effort feedback. You can ask them for specifics, reply to their comment, cross-question and ensure the quality of the critique is good enough.
You don't need to agree with the feedback, but it needs to have effort put into it. Same with any feedback you give.
As a plus, mods will reward bonus lambda to high-quality posts/feedback they come across.
If you feel you were not given lambda unfairly, message the mods to sort it out.
