r/SanFranciscoWeddings Subreddit Rules
No Vendor Promotion
This sub is for discussion, not free ad placement. No vendor posts unless you're (1) answering a question or (2) responding to a post looking for vendors. Posts by customers raving about a single vendor are also prohibited, as these are indistinguishable from vendors posting about themselves under a fake account. PLEASE DO NOT DM THE MODS ASKING FOR AN EXCEPTION, instead focus on sites like The Knot that allow paid advertisements.
Ignoring this rule may result in being banned from the sub.
No Cross-Posts
Original content only, no cross-posts from other subs
No Arguing with Mods
Moderating a subreddit is unpaid and sometimes tiring work. Arguing with the mods is creating extra work for them. As a result, it’s a rule that results in a permanent or temporary ban.
No low-effort posts
If you can’t make the effort to search this sub before posting, to see if your question has already been answered, your post may be deleted. This is particularly true for posts asking for recommendations for a post-City Hall wedding/elopement restaurant, or a hair and makeup artist near City Hall for a wedding/elopement.
No harassment
Rude or harassing posts will be removed. Negative reviews of a vendor are not harassment. The mods’ application of this rule is subjective and not subject to appeal.
No spamming the sub with self-promoting comments
No repeated self-promoting comments from vendors copied and pasted to multiple posts (these will likely be auto-deleted by Reddit anyway). This sub is intended for discussion, not a vehicle for free advertising. Comments offering services should be individual responses tailored to respond to the specific request in the post.
Posts must be intended for other brides/grooms planning weddings in the SF Bay Area
Posts must be intended for other brides/grooms planning weddings in the SF Bay Area. Posts by vendors/aspiring vendors intended for other vendors, for example, are not allowed.
No Customer Impersonation
Vendors may not pretend to be brides/grooms in order to post positive reviews of themselves.
Repeated Removals Will Result in Ban
If the mods are obliged to repeatedly remove your posts/comments for breaking a rule, you may be permanently banned, regardless of whether you disagree that you broke a rule.
Subjective Removal
A post or comment may be deemed by the Mods to be not in the spirit of this sub, mean-spirited, or otherwise meriting removal, despite not falling neatly into one of the rule categories.
