r/FlutterDev Subreddit Rules
Must be directly related to Flutter
If it is posted here, it must have an unambiguous relation to flutter itself. Articles about mobile programming that do not apply to flutter are against this rule.
Help requests go in r/FlutterHelp
If you need help with your code, including plugin suggestions, and hardware recommendations, please ask in r/FlutterHelp
Use link posts whenever possible
A reddit text post with a link and either no content, or content available at the link, does nothing but make navigation harder.
Only english-accessible content
If you have an article, provide a link to an english version, if you have a video, be sure that the english subtitles are available and understandable.
No posts or comments offering to hire, or to be hired.
Either use our Discord chat, or one of the many subreddits dedicated to this purpose.
Companies offering development services will be banned on the spot, this is a community for developers to share knowledge, not a job board.
No promotion of paywalled or loginwalled articles.
Paid or restricted articles are not allowed here.
If someone specifically asks for a recommendation, posting a comment with your content is fine.
Keep content quality high
The members of this community expect content made with some effort. If you post a copy/pasted article or a speedcode video with nothing but code being typed at 2x speed with music in the background, your content could get removed.
No AI Generated Articles
Low effort posts written by Large Language Models are not welcome here, they're often oversimplified, or sometimes straight up wrong.
If you want to write content, ChatGPT is okay to generate an outline, but don't use it to do all the hard work.
People can tell, GPTZero can tell, we can tell.
No advertising of apps
r/FlutterDev is not the place to advertise your apps, it is a place for developers to share knowledge.
If you built an app in Flutter, great! You can advertise on r/AndroidApps , and other places dedicated to this purpose.
Only post about it here if you are willing to share either:
- The source of the app
- Insights about building the app (Generic insight is insufficient, it must be specific to your app.)
