No harassment, shaming, or insults.
Our community is not designed to spread hate towards others who want to help their animals, or those who aspire to improve knowledge about animal care. Insults about culture, slurs, shaming and direct harassment will not be tolerated;
No diagnoses offered are guarantees.
Vets and caretakers share opinions, they donât define what might be the issue. Generally, we encourage people to share insight to offer potential treatments, however, it should never be taken as a guaranteed medical conclusion. Claims should be evidence-based. Myths and unsafe/untested advice will be removed. You are free to mention such concepts but such messages must be stated as being of speculative nature;
Urgent cases
Should be directed towards professionals that can offer urgent help. Donât hope to find a miracle on Reddit if you suspect your pet has their health in danger;
Share clear information
Be honest, specify information that would be relevant for others to understand the issue at hand(species, age, symptoms, duration you noticed, prior care and treatments, everything helps);
Do not prescribe medication
or instruct others to go for specific dosage. General medical information about potential treatments is fine otherwise as long as everything is abiding to the law.
As a vet sharing insights, please follow principles of veterinary medical ethics.
Stick to regulations, and best practices, and donât attempt experimentation by offering speculative treatments.
Protect your client and your own privacy.
Do not share personal, workplace, client, or identifying information in posts. The moderation team ensures that we all have our own security and accounts in check, and we hope our community is mindful about this as well.
Moderators have final say.
Posts or users may be removed to keep the community safe and constructive. Please post on the sub if you have some questions, the mods mostly check for community posts rather than operate as a help source within our mod mail. We try to get through everyone, so if you have something to report, or to share some feedback, youâre more than welcome to do so!
No begging for money donations
We understand it is hard to figure out treatment needs sometimes, however, such posts will be removed. We had noticed people take advantage of other people's good will in the past, so you should be mindful seeing such posts yourself as to what risks they have. There are always ways to help your furry family members but this subreddit focuses on casual educational, and learning topics only. Maybe an experienced keen eye to note early symptoms. Not for financial aid...
If you have something positive that you feel like sharing
Success stories, journeys of recovery and other more casual posts you are welcome to post as you like. Always good to remember the great achievements we reach with the help of medical treatments. Let's celebrate our pets and the joy they bring our lives.
