Participation Requirements.

Accounts must satisfy our minimum karma and account age thresholds. A user flair is required to participate; submissions from users without an assigned flair will be automatically removed.

Follow posting Guidelines

• No blocks of paragraphs, space out your words.
• Do your research before posting
• If posting about news, attach links for the news article/paper

Be Civil and Respectful

• Ask questions sincerely for clarification. No personal attacks, insults, trolling, or inflammatory language.
• Constructive criticism is okay if backed by valid feminist principles.
• No invalidation: Don't dismiss/minimize/gaslight experiences.
• No deflection, derailment, condescension, ad hominem, flame wars, or disruption.

Good Faith Participation Only

• Assume questions are sincere unless clearly in bad faith.
• Genuine inquiries from feminists or allies learning about Indian feminism.
• Brigading from other subs, trolling, or posts/comments intended to mock/hijack feminism are strictly not allowed.

Stay On Topic - No Derailing

• Address the OP's question directly without shifting focus or invalidating their concerns.
• Not allowed: "Not all men," "What about misandry?", "What about men's issues?", body count shaming, false equivalence, or redirecting to non-feminist concerns.
• Men do not lecture women: Men do not tell women what to do, what to say, or what their safe space should be like. Men don't get to lecture feminism to women.

Intersectionality & Inclusivity

• Welcome: Women, LGBTQIA+ community, marginalized communities, and allies who genuinely support feminism. Prioritize marginalized voices: Especially Dalit, Adivasi, Muslim, queer, and disabled women.
• Intersectional feminism only: This is a pro-intersectional feminist group. Any content that goes against intersectional feminism will not be tolerated.
• Women may critique feminist inclusivity issues: Women are free to critique the lack of inclusivity of marginalized women in feminism.

Zero Tolerance for Bigotry

• AskIndianFeminists is intersectional and non-majoritarian with zero tolerance for discrimination.
• Strictly banned: Misogyny (including internalized misogyny), transphobia, homophobia, biphobia, racism, casteism, colorism, xenophobia, ableism, ageism, classism, fatphobia, slut-shaming, victim-blaming, or identity-based hate.
• No majoritarian propaganda, minority bashing, unscientific claims, or promotion of oppressive systems (e.g., caste hierarchy, religious extremism).

No Anti-Feminist Ideology

• Strictly prohibited: MRA rhetoric, red pill/black pill ideology, incel language, "men suffer too" arguments, evolutionary psychology pseudoscience used to justify inequality, or allegations of misandry, man-hate, feminazism, or female privilege.
• Male-centred "feminists" not welcome: Women who call themselves feminists but speak in favour of men's opinions on feminism and women's issues are not allowed here.
• This is a pro-feminist space where anti-feminist views are completely off-topic.

No Accusatory Labels

• Pseudo-feminism, misandry, fake feminist, Gender Wars cannot be used as accusations or labels.
• These terms may only appear when directly quoting someone.

Mods Have the Final Say

• Reports of threats or harassment (doxxing, privacy violations) will result in immediate ban and a Reddit report.
• Moderators have the final say: Our focus is making this sub a safe space for women and intersectional perspectives. Read the rules fully before participating.
• Do not argue with moderators. Contact us via modmail if needed.

Do not DM the mods

• Use Mod Mail or report posts/comments to flag hateful or rule-breaking content—handle it respectfully.

No Unsolicited or Creepy DMs.

Sending unsolicited DMs, repeatedly messaging members, or attempting to obtain personal information from community members is not permitted. Users engaging in this behaviour may be permanently removed from the community. Members who receive unsolicited, inappropriate, or harassing DMs are encouraged to report them to the moderation team via Modmail. Please include screenshots so moderators can review and take appropriate action.
