Top level comments (direct answers) rule

Direct responses to the OP (all top level comments, that answer directly to the OP and not to another comment) in threads here should come from feminists and must reflect a feminist perspective, though all such responses can be challenged / debated; for clarifications regarding this, please see sidebar

Direct answers by the OP

The rule concerning direct answers (which should come from feminists, and the answers should to be consistent with feminism) apply to the person posting the thread as well: all the needed clarifications should be made in the original post, which would make them visible to all, and not in the comments. Direct answers must reflect progressive values, in a strict and consistent manner.

Video submissions

• Give the author/speakers name or username and the video title; you can also give the video's thesis.
• Alternatively, give an outline of the statements and arguments that organize the video
• Give the contextual importance of the video content

Good faith participation

Please show respect towards this community and its agenda toward bridge building, and toward our users working to help others better understand the feminist position. Witch-hunts/personal harassment are prohibited; other hostile/bad-faith actions against the forum and its users (including brigading) are also prohibited.

Discussions about religions

Discussions about Islam can only be made in the context of all the major Abrahamic religions (thus, including Christianity and Judaism as well).

Homework threads

Low effort requests for help with homework are generally frowned upon, and will likely be removed.

The original post must show that the author of the post has read/watched the material that they request feedback on; the author must include in the OP their initial position/argument.

Personal advice

Posts requesting relationship, dating, or personal advice must meet a higher standard than usual (full moderator discretion applies); we are also not equipped or qualified to provide legal advice or therapy. Choice feminism

Please avoid low-effort answers that amount to "if it is my choice it is right" / "if it pleases me, it is right"), and consider topics such as:

• deformed desires;
• patriarchal bargain;
• internalized misogyny;
• women's (but not only's) duties when it comes to countering sexual objectification;
• issues of informed consent, and factors that may vitiate it (emotional/economic/physical coercion, history of abuse, PTSD, compulsive behavior, other mental health issues);
• survival sex.

Informed arguments about sex work

Users who would post direct answers are expected to acknowledge that certain issues (such as poverty/economic duress/emotional coercion) can (and, for at-risk groups, often do) vitiate formal consent to sex work. Arguments that amount to unqualified support for this activity (that fail to acknowledge the extent of human rights abuses that occur at the expense of such vulnerable persons) are mod actionable and will be removed.
