r/3Dprinting Subreddit Rules

1

Posts must be 3D-printing-related

All posts must be about a 3D printer, something that is 3D printed, or the 3D Printing industry.

This is an overview. Read the full rules here: https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/wiki/communityrules/

Violation reason: Not about a 3D printer or something 3D printed.
2

Requests for purchase advice must go in the stickied megathread

  • Don't make new threads when asking what printer to buy, they will be removed.
  • Instead use the Monthly Purchase Advice Thread that is stickied to the top of the subreddit

This is an overview. Read the full rules here: https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/wiki/communityrules/

Violation reason: Use Purchase Advice Megathread
3

Self-Promotion

Self-Promotion content can only be posted 14 days for free models and 30 days for paid models after your last self-promotion post. Specific other restrictions also apply, that you can read about in the full rules below.

This is an overview. Full rules: https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/wiki/communityrules/

Violation reason: self-promotion rule violation
4

No Dangerous or Malicious Devices or Instructions

No Dangerous or Malicious Devices or Instructions: No posting, sharing, or linking to files or designs for dangerous devices (e.g., firearms, explosives). Non-functional cosplay or toy weapons are allowed if not resembling real firearms. Do not provide instructions to create dangerous devices. Ethical discussions are allowed, but no specific instructions.

This is an overview. Full rules: https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/wiki/communityrules/

Violation reason: Dangerous or Malicious Devices or Instructions
5

Community Behavior

People have off days. Jerks will be ignored and down-voted. But if someone is continually being disruptive to the community in multiple threads (aka trolling), they will be banned at the mods' discretion. This includes bypassing blocked links or services via for example link shorteners, which is against Reddits Terms of Service to begin with.

This is an overview. Read the full rules here: https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/wiki/communityrules/

Violation reason: Community Behaviour / Misinformation / Health Risk
6

Specific Day-Limited content

We only allow memes to be posted here on mondays, as we end up with too many and they drown out all other discussions.

Showing off first layers is only permitted on First Layer Friday, Spaghetti only on Spaghetti Saturday. Both of these topics get spammed way too often otherwise and are too repetitive in nature.

This is an overview. Read the full rules here: https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/wiki/communityrules/

Violation reason: Meme not on Monday
7

Other content restrictions

Specific other content is also restricted, for example (but not limited to):

  • Anything regarding cryptocurrency / NFT
  • AI generated content or models
  • Reddit ToS restricted content

This is an overview. Read the full rules here: https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/wiki/communityrules/

Violation reason: Specific Restricted Content
8

No Karma/Repost Bots

This one is pretty obvious but we have to add it as a rule to get the applicable report reason for users so they can report Karma Bots reposting other people's content better and we can discern these posts faster.

Violation reason: Karmafarming Bot Account
9

No Linking to Restricted Websites

Do not post links to restricted websites or attempt to circumvent this restriction with partial URL strings, the use of subtle hints, etc., to reference models from these sites. For transparency, a list of restricted sites is available, explaining why these sites are restricted.

Violation reason: Linking to restricted websites
