"Controversial" F/Os and sources are allowed

Unconventional F/Os and sources are 100% ALLOWED. By this, we mean:

• Non-humans, within limits. Realistic animals/ferals are not tolerated. Use common sense, and when in doubt, look up the "Harkness test".
• Villains, antagonists. We ask that you acknowledge and understand the wrongness of their actions, and don't go around condoning them or trying to argue in their favor.
• Sources that are controversial because of their creators. Do not directly support them or condone their actions.

Regarding minors and their ships

We take the safety of the children who are a part of this community very seriously. This sub is NOT in support of the thought "it's just a fictional character,” meaning sexualization of minor characters is prohibited. For additional context to this rule as to what we deem appropriate or inappropriate, please refer to the FAQ pinned at the top of our subreddit.

In addition to this, any posts from minors containing their age or any other personal information will be removed for their own safety.

No yumeshipping with real people/parasocial relationships

Includes RPF and the such. This is to prevent parasocial relationships and respecting boundaries between us and celebrities. Yume-ing live action characters, however, is permitted.

Good and welcoming vibes only

This sub is meant to be a safe space away from judgement. Please help us keep this place supportive and uplifting!

This means no policing or disrespecting other members. If some content alarms you, refer to previous rules - but if you personally don't like a user, but they're not breaking any rules, please block them.

This is also a safe space for minorities (lgbt, disabled people, POC) - as well as furries, therians, otherkin, etc. Bigotry will NOT be tolerated.

No derailing debates.

Due to a small moderation team and the subjective nature of arguments, we ask you to limit moral debates on r/yumeshipping. We don't know every character or franchise, which makes this content harder to moderate. Members should not have to justify their ships. There are many other yume/ficto subs where such discussions are allowed.

Please refer to this first before making a post to ask things like "can I have multiple f/os" or "Is this age gap between my f/o and I acceptable?". Repetitive questions such as these will be removed and members will be redirected to our FAQ.

Let's keep the drama and venting at a minimum, please!

This is a safe space that wants to promote positivity and good vibes. Some negative subjects around yumeships (such as character deaths, for example) are to be expected and they are welcome here. But drama from the outside should not be brought into this sub.

No sub-posting either. Do NOT make a new post to address the content of a post that has been deleted or locked.

No triggering content

No depictions of rape, self harm, eating disorders, suicide, pedophilia - this means no writing, drawings or mentions. This list is not exhaustive.

Breaking this rule will result in a mute to a ban.

No proship

Proshipping, darkshipping, and any other variant is not welcome here. Proshipping includes pedophilia, incest, dead dove relationships, etc. Note that this list is not exhaustive. Please keep these things out of this subreddit.

Mentioned previously, controversial/problematic F/Os are okay so long as it’s not the topics mentioned above.

Sharing status / encountering doubles

This is an open space where you may find doubles especially if you have a popular partner.

Use the block button liberally. Non-sharing users are welcome. So are sharing and selective sharing users. What's not welcome is putting others down.

Posts invalidating doubles will be deleted and may result in a ban. Posts along the lines of "why are people non-sharing?" or venting about sharers/non-sharers will be deleted.

Commissions require sub activity / no free art requests

This is not an art advertisement sub. Members are free to share their own art commissions, but people coming from outside this sub and that have never participated in it should refrain. One or two replies are not sufficient.

No requesting for free art. Posts offering free art are allowed, but for people making requests in those: be mindful and respectful. Do not spam or harass artists, read their posts carefully, and respect their rules and conditions.

No NSFW (visual, verbal, overly suggestive talk, etc). For 18+ or NSFW discussions, you can visit our sister sub, r/YumeshippingAfterDark

This includes requests for server recommandations. Please also keep exchanging of discord handles and other social medias to DMs for your own safety!

No posts about AI or it’s surrounding topics

No posts about using AI, asking about ethics of AI, alternatives to AI, etc. If unsure, ask mods. This includes AI generated content.
