Respectful conduct
As it pertains to other members of the sub; be mindful of how you speak, both in what you say and in how you say it. Please remember that the tone or inflection of what is being said is often lost online so when in doubt assume the best of what is being said and be doubly-kind.
See someone breaking this rule? Please bite your tongue and report it to the mod team. No clap backs, callouts or “Well YOU said…” Report, block, move on.
Good faith participation
This means that if we have to remove rule-breaking content of yours and we see that what was removed was the only participation you’ve had in this sub or that all of your prior participation was of a similar nature to what we removed you will be banned.
This especially applies to our rules concerning Respectful Conduct and Vaccines.
This can be avoided by taking the time to read the sub rules, abiding by them and not looking for ways to bend or circumvent them.
All parents are welcome
All parents are free to participate! The name of the sub has been passed down and cannot be changed, however dearly we’d love to change it to moderatelygranolaparents.
Please don’t exclude non-moms from the space and don’t feel like you’re unwelcome if “mom” isn’t your title!
Don’t give or solicit medical advice
Please do not give or solicit medical advice. We cannot verify credentials and therefore cannot safely allow medical advice to be provided. Sharing studies, personal opinions, personal experiences, or what you were told by your own medical professional is fine. If you are a medical professional, please be sure that your response cannot be misconstrued as medical advice.
No Photos of Children
This is not the place to share photos of your children in any context. Our sub is open to the public, it’s not a closed group. Please protect your children in online spaces.
This includes photos with children’s faces covered, outside of the shot or of children that are not your own.
No vaccine dissuasion
Moderately Granola Moms firmly supports routine and up-to-date vaccinations for all age groups. Please follow the recommendations of the place/country you live as well as the recommendation of your doctor. Your vaccination status or participation in other subs on this matter doesn't exclude you from joining or participating in this sub, but dissuading, discouraging or scaring people out of vaccinations is not tolerated.
Vaccine megathread
Each week we post and sticky a Vaccine Megathread. Please use this thread for all questions and conversations pertaining to vaccinations including the Vitamin K shot.
Please adhere extra-closely to our rules about respect. As previously mentioned; we firmly support routine and up-to-date vaccinations for children and adults. While your choice about vaccinating doesn’t exclude you from participating and answering questions please mind our rule about not dissuading other people from vaccinating.
