Be kind towards other posters
Don't be a jerk!
Kindness is doing something and not expecting anything in return. Kindness is respect and helping others without waiting for someone to help one back. Self-kindness is excellent practice for being kind to others. We show kindness to ourselves by exercising disciplined health habits.
Be familiar with the general definition of "hikikomori" before posting here.
The psychiatrist Tamaki Saitō defines hikikomori as "A state that has become a problem by the late twenties, that involves cooping oneself up in one’s own home and not participating in society for six months or longer, but that does not seem to have another psychological problem as its principal source."

We are not here to diagnose, condemn, curse, shame, or any other un-kind verbal action that brings further harm to the poster.
We are not a jury and our purpose is not to reach a verdict. Specifically: whether a poster meets the criteria of hikikomori or not.
