Be nice
This is a place for fans of Hadestown to talk to other fans and find community. This is NOT a place to hold arguments about who you think is best in a role, or which version of the show is the best, or anything of that sort. While we do encourage critique and discussion, that does not include outright bashing or petty insults. "I disliked X's performance for reason Y" is acceptable. "X sucks and should never be seen in public again" is not.
No bigotry
This is an extension of rule 2, "Be nice!". Absolutely NO discrimination of any kind will be tolerated. This includes but is NOT limited to sexism, queerphobia, and racism. Theater has always been a space for those of us who don't fit well into the molds of what constitutes "normal," and the discussion spaces for theater should reflect that.

If you're a newcomer (maybe you're taking family to see it for the first time soon, maybe you just got out of the proshot, maybe you're putting on a production) and you have a question, give a quick glance at our FAQ before asking. If your question is answered, great! Go about your life enriched with this knowledge. If not, head into the subreddit and ask away!
Be original, pt. one
If you see that a post like the one you're about to make has been made a billion times before (I wish they'd make an official recording with [insert current cast here]!), ask yourself: is this actually adding to the conversation? If not, think about what's actually driving that passion. What do you like about the current cast? What do you think of the economic implications of cast recordings? This half of the rule will be lightly enforced.
Be original, pt. two
No generative AI. This half of the rule will be heavily enforced, and any posts using genAI will be deleted on sight.
Reporting
We have lives outside of this subreddit, and we don't have time to comb through every post looking for problems. Reporting something brings it straight to our mod queue. If someone is violating the rules, report their post/comment and we'll investigate the next time we're online. Also, please give a good reason for reporting the comment. Are they actually violating the rules, or do you just not like what they're saying?
