Must be dyeing related
This is a subreddit about adding pigment to something to change the colorâ this does not include hair dyeing (please go to r/HairDye) or bleach dyeing (please go to r/BleachedShirts). Both of those subreddits are active and can offer more support than we canâ they are cool and valid art forms but we need to have limits on our topics to keep this subreddit focused and helpful.
Be civil, be kind
No hate speech, bullying or harassment will be tolerated. We're dying fabrics here, it's not that serious.
All "how do I dye this?" posts must contain these elements
These posts should include the following:
1)A picture of the garment.
2)Your goal: what color or effect are you trying to achieve?
All posts MUST contain:
3)Fabric composition: what is your fabric/garment/thing you want to dye made of? Cotton, polyester, rayon, linen, silk, etc. (this is not an exhaustive list). Most garments have a tag that contains this info.
Please offer helpful tips! We're all learning here
This is a skill sharing community where we all learn from each other. Please refrain from writing comments that don't contain any advice or explanation. Try to avoid one-word responses. We're here to maintain a positive and supportive space where knowledge can be aggregated .
No NSFW images
Absolutely no NSFW images or discussion. This will result in an immediate ban.
Regarding Self Promotion
Self promotion is allowed in this subreddit as long as you are not spamming the feed, posts are not low effort (posts should contain relevant information about your skills or products), and you are a participant in the community to some degree.
We donât want the subreddit to just become adsâ we want it to be a community.
