r/churning Subreddit Rules
Rule 1 - Disrespectful behavior
This is NOT a full list of our rules, due to New Reddit limitations. For a full list with complete descriptions, please click the "Rules of the Sub" link in the sidebar.
Malicious, harassing, or downright disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. Treat one another with respect and refrain from disrespectful behavior. This includes excessive profanity and other behavior (including elitism / condescension) that will be evaluated at the moderation team's discretion.
Rule 2 - Award travel
Questions and discussions about redeeming points or miles (as opposed to earning them) must be posted in /r/awardtravel. Major announcements that can influence the choice of a credit card (e.g. devaluations, mergers) will be allowed on a case by case basis. Trip reports are allowed and have a dedicated flair.
Rule 3 - Daily/Weekly Threads
To prevent the sub from being cluttered with basic or common questions, the use of Daily/Weekly threads is mandatory.
Rule 4 - Megathreads
Some popular deals or discussions might have dedicated "mega threads". These will be listed in the sidebar. As long as these threads appear in the sidebar, all related questions and discussions must be posted in these threads rather than as standalone posts.
Rule 5 - Referrals
There are no longer any referrals in this subreddit. If you wish to find or post referral links, please visit r/churningreferrals. The posting of referral links anywhere in this sub is expressly forbidden. Soliciting referrals is forbidden. Asking for or offering a kickback for referral usage is forbidden Do any of these and it will result in immediate banishment. If somebody solicits you via PM to use their referral, don't contact the mods - they can't do anything about it.
Rule 6 - Self promotion
Promotion for products, websites, classes, books, private forums, etc. may be done only in exactly one front page post per product. A user may use the comment section of the daily threads to ask for feedback, advertise, etc. as often as they like - the sub's usual self-moderation is in effect here.
Rule 7 - Selling or trading points
You may not post about selling or trading miles or points.
Rule 8 - Off topic
Rule 9 - Mod Discretion
At any point, mods can decide to remove/not approve content that they feel is detrimental to the sub, or not in the sub's best interest. This includes comment that is detrimental to the hobby as a whole, or that has a high risk of being abused.
