No personal attacks or discriminatory remarks.
Applies to the chatroom as well
We strive to be a positive community that encourages exploration of the hobby to its fullest. Any intentionally discouraging posts aimed at legal and ethical operating activities, or blatant disrespect that would discourage someone from continuing with the hobby may be removed. Racism, sexism, and other discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated.
Do not spam / Do not post AI generated content
Many subscribers have their own websites or channels and it's okay to submit content from those sites occasionally, as long as it is related to the topic, and as long as you remain active in the sub. Users who only post links to promote their websites/channels and provide no other contribution to the sub will have their posts removed and flagged as spam. We generally use Reddit's definition of spam.
AI-generated content is considered spam.
Do not abuse flair
Users may assign their own flair, but it is not required. Flair should be applicable to the subreddit or to the hobby at large. Examples of acceptable flair include, but are not limited to, callsign, license class, or grid square. It should not be vulgar or offensive. URLs are not permitted. If you use a callsign, it must be your own or one you are a trustee of.
Do not share personal information
Some users may use their callsign as their username or as flair. Even though most user callsign information is public record, we request that you respect their privacy and avoid posting their personal information. There are users who do not wish to have their callsign associated with their username. Please respect their choice.
If a callsign or information about a callsign is posted to incite or encourage harassment, the thread and/or post will be removed and possible ban. sdfsdfs
Follow Reddiquette
We take it seriously here. Know it, love it, use it.
Keep it legal
Posts that appear to be promoting blatantly malicious activity, illegal activity, and/or violating the FCC rules may be removed at the moderators' discretion. Topics that might include illegal elements are not prohibited, but blatantly illegal/rule breaking content or activities are strongly discouraged. Discussion on modifying equipment to transmit on frequencies outside of the allocated amateur radio frequencies is not allowed.
Please respect others/vistors
There are often many people who are visitors of the sub and want to learn more about amateur radio. They are not amateur radio operators. Generic questions will often be asked. There will also be questions that might not exactly pertain to amateur radio or they are loosely related. We ask that you respect everyone in a matter that you would like to be treated. The goal of the sub is to promote amateur radio in a positive matter. Please be respectful to all.
Memes must use the MEME Flair
If you are posting a meme, please assign the "MEME" Flair to the thread. This allows users to filter them if they choose.
Moderators have the final say
Even though we strive to be as fair as possible, it is not possible to please all of the users, all of the time. Your opinions will be heard and considered, but in the end the final decision rests with the moderators. Moderators will not suppress discussion of controversial topics, and will only act to enforce the above rules.
