Behave As You Would In Person
The biggest winners with AI will people with exceptional social skills. Use this subreddit as a practice for this. Avoid engaging in behavior that you would not do in person. Ask yourself this simple question, "Would I say this if this were an in-person group?"
No marketing of any kind
No marketing of any kind is allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, links, software, gimmicky keywords, education products or programs, news articles, code repos, updating posts with links, soliciting tools or content, etc. This includes editing content to market. While we may allow top contributors to share a small amount of promotional material, this will be at our discretion and only if they've demonstrated a pattern of assisting the community.
Avoid False Assumptions and Distractive Posting
Avoid assuming that people who share information fully agree with everything related to the information they share. People may find an article interesting about an applied use of AI. That does not mean that they agree with every use of AI mentioned in that article. That also does not mean they agree with everything the author ever wrote. In addition, commenting outside a topic to derail a thread is not allowed.
No LLMs/Bots/AI Tools Posing As Humans
Do not use any AI tool (LLM/bots/etc) to post in this subreddit. You can find others that allow this. If your AI is as good as you think, it would tell you it can't post to this subreddit, but it's obviously now. While you may get away with this behavior in the short run, many social media improvements are being made and you will be rooted out.
No News/Negative Information
Do not share any news links or information link. Reddit has many subreddits where you can do this already. For top contributors who can share links, share links from people with expertise in their fields. Remember: you cannot share any links if you are not a top contributor; you will be banned for violation of this.
Stay On Topic
Do not derail a thread or distract from the focus of a topic. Attention matters and a topic means that people who reply must devote their attention to the post. Any attempt at distraction will not be allowed.
No Asking For Rules/TOS Bypassing With AI
We do not use every site in existence or even know about every site. Likewise, we don't always use your lingo for site's names. However, if a commenter points out that you're using AI to violate the terms of service on a site, we will ban you immediately and permanently. When signing up for a site, you must read the terms of service, which will increasingly state rules related to AI.
No Course or Educational Marketing
You are not allowed to market your course or educational content. In addition you are not allowed to ask questions about courses or educational content (often a form of disguised marketing). Given that people are losing their jobs due to AI, we will not allow you to market any courses or educational programs. If you want to see a list of free learning we collected a while ago, you can read this thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/aiengineering/comments/1nugp28/whats_involved_in_aiengineering/.
No Reference To AI Tools
No Reference To AI Tools. At the moderators discretion, we do not allow any marketing, discussion or reference of AI tools. Given that many Western tech firms have chosen to use AI to eliminate workers, we will not allow the discussions of some of these tools since we find charging money for a product while eliminating workers unethical. We do allow open source discussions because these tools do not carry costs, but will remain strict on even these mentions since they could be used to negatively
Avoid posting suspicious/mis-use content
Some questions or topics may be inappropriate because answers to these questions or the questions themselves could be used by malicious actors. For an example, asking about how you can query an AI tool without being tracked is a suspicious question. This type of question may be removed or locked and your account will be flagged. This also applies to questions or posts that start with inaccurate or misleading statements in them.
