Be excellent to one another
Just a reminder of the reddiquette. Be nice. Be respectful. Treat other people as you would like to be treated. And definitely no bigotry or xenophobia.
Don't solicit or post illegal advice
Don't ask questions or post advice on how to skirt immigration law.
Don't post private information
Sometimes posts include USCIS tracking numbers. Don't do that, and please report them immediately if you see them. This applies to any other piece of information that might potentially identify you or someone else.
No spam
This is mostly covered by the Reddiquette but adds further clarifications pertinent to the sub. You may not offer paid services through this sub, for example (but not limited to) attorney, form assistance or translation services. In the same spirit, when posting links, avoid linking to law firms, instead try to find the info on government websites or neutral third parties e.g. https://www.law.cornell.edu for law citations or nolo.com/alllaw.com for more detailed explanations.
News articles should be about policy changes, not opinion pieces
When posting news articles, make sure they are about real changes to DHS/USCIS policy or Department of State visa issuance guidelines. For example, news surrounding the implementation of the public charge rule, or the restoration (or end) of DACA, or announcements about new fee structures are acceptable. Opinion pieces from the press about why immigration is good or bad are not acceptable. We realize it's sometimes a bit of a gray area but have discretion on whether something stays or goes.
Do not post inaccurate and/or misleading information
People on this subreddit rely on accurate information. Any inaccurate and/or misleading information will be removed and the poster will be warned/banned if they were acting maliciously. Any disputes regarding misinformation can be cleared up by posting a source for your claim.
Do not post clickbait, misleading titles or unnecessary images
This subreddit has a lot of people who are under a great deal of stress. Please do not make posts with misleading/clickbait titles. While they may get a lot of engagement, they can also induce a great amount in stress in people who shouldn't be concerned by your post.
Also do not make posts with unnecessary images. They take up more space in the Reddit UI.

Posts where you say you've just filed, "wish me luck", etc. aren't allowed.
"Success" posts, (e.g. where you share a photo of your green card, or your citizenship certificate or oath ceremony) are subject to restrictions. Such posts must contain details about the case, like your timeline (date of filing, date of interview, date of RFE, date of USCIS decision, etc), field office, basis for the application, and country of origin. That info must be in the body of your post or in a comment.
