r/ONProvincialParks Subreddit Rules
Posts Must Be Park-Specific or Relevant
Submissions must be specific or relevant to Ontario's provincial parks system. This is the core tenet of this sub.
Be Nice To Each Other
That one is pretty clear, but just in case it isn't: Racism, sexism, homophobia, religious intolerance or any other form of demeaning content will not be permitted here. Attack the point, not the person.
Contributions Must Benefit The Community
No low-effort posts. This includes but is not limited to memes, macros, reaction-gifs, common tourist pictures, vlogs, and rants that do not invite discussion or constructive resolutions. Photo submissions are limited to exceptional and relevant photos during the week, however these rules are relaxed within reason on weekends.
No Classified Ads
Please don't post classifieds. Craigslist, Kijiji or Facebook Marketplace are better options. Missing pets are allowed. Missing persons are allowed if the submission links to a news or police report.
Standard Reddit Rules Apply: No Self-Promotion
Follow reddit's content policy, self-promotion guidelines, and reddiquette. While much of reddiquette is covered in the rest of the rules, please note that we take the reposting of deleted or removed content very seriously.
Additionally, we do not allow fundraising, vote-begging, surveys, or referral/promo codes.
No Duplicate Posts
One post per news item please. Additional articles on the same topic will be removed unless they add significant new information or analysis. For example, if a CBC article has already been posted, and you post a Globe and Mail article on the same subject which provides no significant additional information, it will be removed.
Do Not Editorialize the Headline
While there might be occasional cases of mod discretion, the headline should clearly reflect the content of the linked submission and almost always be a word-for-word copy. The simplest way to avoid breaking this rule and triggering reports is to copy/paste the headline from the source you're referencing.
No Politics Or Religion
Absolutely no political or religious discussion will be tolerated in this community. There are other communities where those can be discussed. Please use reddit's search bar to find them.
