Be Friendly and Supportive No Discrimination

All members must treat each other with respect. Gatekeeping, such as telling people they do not belong in Japan or discouraging them from pursuing life or work there, is not tolerated and may result in an instant ban. Discrimination of any kind is prohibited. Posts or comments that are discriminatory, exclusionary, or hateful will be removed and may result in a ban.

All Work Must Be Related to Japan (Especially Remote Work)

All job postings must be directly related to Japan. Remote work opportunities are only allowed if they clearly explain how they support someone living in Japan—for example, paying in yen, requiring Japanese language skills, or serving a Japan-based company. This reasoning must be stated in the post. Remote jobs without a valid connection to Japan will be removed.

Possible Scam or Multi-Level Marketing Offers

Any post that appears to be a possible scam or multi-level marketing (MLM) offer will be removed. Products or services must be free of charge and include a clear, direct link—otherwise, they will be classified as a possible scam. No surveys. No Google Forms.

Job Posting Discrimination Based on Sex, Age, or Nationality

This community is a diverse international space. Job postings may not discriminate against applicants based on sex, age, or nationality—even if such criteria are considered legal under Japanese labor practices. All opportunities shared here must be inclusive and welcoming to all members.

This subreddit is dedicated to helping people find and share information related to working in Japan. Posts that are not directly connected to employment, job hunting, or career-related topics in Japan will be removed. This is not a business advice subreddit.

No Paid Referrals or Referral Links

Even if a job is legitimate, paid referral links are not allowed. Due to the rise in spam and low-quality posts, all referral-based links will be removed to protect the community. Because of ongoing issues with certain companies, posting these links may result in an immediate ban.

All links to Mercor are banned, and users who post Mercor links will be permanently banned.

This rule applies to link-based referrals only. Recruiters are still welcome to post.

No Temporary Gig Work

Posts offering or seeking short-term, one-off, or temporary “gig” jobs are not allowed. This includes event staffing, delivery run, quick freelance tasks, or any work that does not provide ongoing employment. Part-time work, long seasonal(WHV work), and Internships are perfectly fine to post.

No Job posting with telephone numbers or 3rd party messenging.

Posts may not include phone numbers or contact details for WhatsApp, LINE, Telegram, WeChat, Google Forms, or other third-party messaging services. Email addresses are allowed, but Reddit is scraped for them, so use them at your own risk. Applying directly through the employer's website is recommended. Reddit DMs and chat cannot realistically be prevented, but private messages may be used for scams. Posts that appear deceptive, suspicious, or scam-related may be removed at moderator discretion.
