Mind your Manners

Participation in this subreddit requires that you be courteous and respectful with all of your posts and comments. No obvious or directed rudeness/hostility, trolling, shit talking, hate speech, meta drama, racism or bigotry. This is a friendly and welcoming community for all of your Heritage Wear needs, let's keep it that way. Violations will be removed, repeat offenders will be permanently banned with no exceptions.

Stay on Topic

Heritage Wear is a very general topic with a broad list of styles and options to pull from. We encourage your creativity and self expression through fashion! That being said, this is not street wear or a place for fast fashion trends. Please stay true to the spirit of the sub with high quality, well crafted garments, and timeless styles. If you have any questions or are unsure of your post feel free message the mods!

Put some Effort into your posts

Bare minimum is to give your heritage garment ID’s in the post description. Brands are optional (but encouraged) unless specified otherwise. Product ID request posts need to be as thorough as possible. Approval subject to Mod discretion.

This subreddit is meant to spark interest and allow users to express themselves freely within the realm of HeritageWear. No single pics with no description or context. No low quality photos that make it difficult for users to give or seek feedback or advice.

Cross-posting

Cross posting has been temporarily enabled in preparation for upcoming community events (AMA's, Giveaways, Brand Collabs, etc..). Cross posting is typically turned off and we will eventually return to no cross posting to keep things focused on Heritage Wear. In an effort to get as many eyes on and as much engagement as possible for our upcoming events we have turned it on. Crossposts from unapproved subs or unrelated to heritage wear will be removed no questions asked.

No AI Generated Content

Posts or Comments created with AI tools (e.g., Images, text) are not allowed. This ensures authentic, user-generated discussions. Keep it real y'all.

No Spam

Irrelevant links, ads, excessive self-promotion, or affiliate links are not allowed. Ongoing or upcoming sales, deals, bargain posts are allowed but duplicates will be removed and either the first made or most engaged with post will remain.

Self-Promotions

All promotional content MUST be approved by moderators BEFORE posting! Unapproved promo will be removed without notification. Absolutely NO SPAM. Report anything that has not been approved! Message the mods if you have any doubts or questions about your particular promo.

DIY CRAFTSPEOPLE: Posts showing off your self-made products are allowed and encouraged! Of course this only applies to quality, heritage made goods/services (e.g., leather/denim/metal work, etc..)

Buy/Sell/Trade

ALL items posted for sale directly through this sub MUST be posted in the weekly BST thread. Absolutely NO illegal or COUNTERFEIT goods are allowed to be sold or traded on this sub. This is STRICTLY PROHIBITED and Violators will be permanently banned.

Shop Gift Cards - proof of amount must be provided when offering to sell gift cards for online or brick & mortar stores.

NO POLITICS

STRICT NO POLITICS POLICY!!! This is a subreddit about clothing let’s keep it that way. If you want to discuss political agendas of any type do it in the appropriate subreddits or in your own private conversations. If you cannot understand how to keep the topics separate this is not the subreddit for you.

*Talking about your culture or a brand’s manufacturing ethics and things of that nature are perfectly okay. You will be permanently banned for making racists remarks about someone’s culture.

We do keep low reputation and spam filters active at all times. Crowd Control filters are activated when necessary. This helps keep our community free from reddit degenerates and spam accounts.
