This community is focused on discussion about European Vehicles and is meant to be welcoming and family friendly. Therefore NSFW posts and comments linking to NSFW sites (mature content & nudity) are prohibited and will result in deletion of such content and ban from the subreddit.

No personal attacks, uncivil, libelous/defamatory behaviour

No personal attacks aimed at users or those outside of Reddit. Posts and comments expressing animosity or disparagement of an individual or a group on account of a group characteristic such as race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, religion, or sexual orientation will be immediately removed and may result in a ban from /r/EuroEV. Additionally, libelous comments or posts against named individuals (e.g. CEOs, YouTube personalities, etc) will also be removed and may result in a ban.

No Doxxing or Witchhunting

Any stalking, harassment, witch-hunting, or doxxing of any individual will not be tolerated.

Posting of others' personal information including names, home addresses, and/or telephone numbers is prohibited.

No Irrelevant Content

All posts must be relevant and related to battery electric vehicles — BEVs. Available or upcoming on the European 🇪🇺 market (incl. EU, EFTA, UK, Ukraine, Western Balkans and Türkiye). Posts on public charging infrastructure and policy are allowed. Posts relating to upcoming technology must be in relation to production in the near future, not pre-production lab tests e.g. new battery chemistry.

Language

Please write your posts and comments in English so that it's easier for others to understand. Machine translation may be used (Google Translate etc.). In case it's not possible to use machine translation, a summary written in the comments below the post would be appreciated.

No Charger Complaints

No posts about blocked chargers, others unplugging you, or similar outrage-provoking behavior relating to EV chargers.

No Investment Speculation

This is not an investment forum. We don’t permit hyping EV stocks/SPACs or engaging in EV investment speculation.

Surveys and petitions Must be Approved by Mods

Dealership Markup Posts are Prohibited

Posts complaining about dealership experiences or individual instances of dealership markup are prohibited. We encourage you to add this information to the markup tracker map. This is linked in the sidebar, menu bar and wiki.

General constructive topics about markup may be allowed.

"Check out my EV post" guidelines

We require "Check out my EV!" submissions to be more than just a picture.

Tell us something about your vehicle, by writing a minimum of 500 characters in a comment or by submitting as a text posts — how long have you had it? What do you like about it so far? Anything else we should know?

Policy not Politics

We understand that electric vehicles are inherently a political topic — however, this is not a place for politics. Refrain from discussions about (geo-)politics unrelated to electric vehicles. Submissions and comments about effective policymaking are allowed and encouraged in the community, however conversations and submissions about parties, politicians, and those devolving into general tribalism will be removed.

No propaganda

No posting of non-objective sources: oil-lobby funded studies, click-bait articles, tabloid articles with sensationalised headlines, political opinion pieces and opinions by politicians or political candidates. Government policy or proposed legislation may be discussed. Criticism of individual corporate practices is still allowed.

Self-promotion allowed with an [OC] tag

No posting of your own content (videos, articles, etc) or posting of content from sites in which you have a business relationship or a financial interest without adding an [OC] tag.

You're allowed to post links to your own content and to websites that you're employed by or are associated with ... but you must add an [OC] tag so that everyone else can see and understand that you are self-promoting.

While self-promotion is allowed, low-effort and/or AI-generated content is not allowed.

No AI-generated posts

If the majority of the content of a post, article, or video appears to be generated by AI, it will be removed.
