Obey the Golden Rule & Maintain Decorum

• Lead by example and treat others as you would wish yourself to be treated.
• No Trolling. Do not make random unsolicited and/or controversial comments with the intent of baiting or provoking unsuspecting readers to engage in hostile arguments. Trolling, in all its forms, will lead to a suspension or permanent ban. Do not waste people's time. It's the most valuable resource we have.

No Spam

• Posting referral links are strictly prohibited and will be met with a long-term or permanent ban.
• Over advertising is not allowed, URL shorteners, or ads for commercial offerings.
• To reduce spam from throwaway and bot accounts to post or comment your account must:
• Be at least 10 days old
• Have at least 20 comment karma to comment
• At least 100 combined karma to post

No Manipulation

• No pumping. This includes links to "pump and dump" groups or signals groups.
• No shilling or FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt).
• Do not solicit, complain about, or make predictions for votes.
• No brigading and always use NP (No-Participation) links.
• Manipulation and Brigading are against the subreddit and site-wide rules. Communities linking to posts on r/CryptoNewsandTalk/ must use No Participation links.

No Low Quality Content

• Posts must include credible sources when applicable.
• No memes, joke posts or low effort content.
• No baseless price speculation or portfolio posts.
• Baseless price thought, shilling, duplicate posts of front page content, etc. qualify as low-quality content and will be eliminated.
• Questions that only belong in the daily discussion thread: rate my portfolio, "what coin should I buy?", shill me a coin, low-market cap coins, etc.

Do Not Incite Illegal Activities Or Beg

• Do not incite or encourage illegal activities. Promoting leaks, buying/selling drugs, tax evasion, pyramid schemes, etc will be removed.
• No malware, spyware, phishing, or pharming links.
• Do not post addresses, host giveaways on this subreddit, link to giveaways elsewhere, or seek donations without prior approval from the moderators. Prior approval is granted in only the most extraordinary circumstances.
• Do not beg for karma.

Keep Discussions on Topic

• Do not turn conversation far from the post you're commenting in.
• Ideological posts or comments about politics are considered non-constructive, off-topic, and will be removed. Exceptions will be made for analysis of political events and how they influence the markets.
• Content such as wallet support requests or highly technical discussions are not encouraged and should be referred to their respective coin subreddit.

Do Not Reveal Personal Information

• Do not reveal personally identifying information(PII), otherwise known as doxxing yourself. Divulging how many coins you own can make you a target of hackers and identity thieves. This includes posting your crypto address.
• By the same token, do not doxx other redditors even if they engaged in an illicit activity. Report them to the mods or admins instead.

Use Suitable Titles & Flairs

• No clickbait or misleading titles. Titles should accurately represent the content being linked to.
• Titles and posts must be in English.
• No URLs in titles.
• Use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. For example, "LeT ALT SeAsOn BeGiN!!!" is an unacceptable title and will be removed.
• You must flair your submissions and use the most appropriate flair.

Do Not Steal Content

• Do not steal content, also known as scraping or plagiarizing. Submitting links to blogs or news sites which are notorious for this activity will result in suspension or permanent ban. Use this tool to help determine if content is stolen or not.
• Websites that constantly plagiarize or copy content from other sources may be blacklisted.

Communicate With Moderators

• Report rules violations. The above rules are only as good as they are enforced. Mods cannot be everywhere at once so it is up to you to report rule violations when they happen. Do not fall victim to the Bystander Effect and think someone else will report it.
• Do not submit petty or hyperbolic meta posts to stir up drama in the community. Message the modmail instead.
