Follow Reddit’s Ground Rules

In addition to the rules listed below, members of /r/ClevelandGuardians are also held to the Rules of Reddit as well as Site-Wide Reddiquette. Please read them, understand them, and abide by them.

User Conduct

DO NOT:

• Target, mock, or otherwise harass users, groups of users and/or their opinions, both directly or indirectly
• Troll, threaten, or incite any violence towards individuals or groups
• Submit racist, sexist, abusive or otherwise intolerant language
• Go to other teams' subs and troll them, or link to other team's game threads asking others to troll
• Break any of these rules via throwaway accounts or novelty accounts (We will ban all your accounts!)

Low-Effort Content

Low-effort content is subject to removal by the moderators. This includes:

• Check-in posts
• Low-res videos or images
• Sensationalized, misleading, ambiguous, or just plain bad titles
• Low-effort memes, jokes, image macros, reaction gifs, typos, screenshots, website errors, box scores, shower thoughts, etc.
• Easily searchable/low-effort questions
• Circlejerks
• Off-topic/non-Guardians posts

Highlight Post Rules

Highlight posts must include a link to a video/gif of the play

• If multiple posts of the same highlight are posted close together, the best quality post will be kept
• “Best quality” refers to both the video/gif itself and the discussion in the comments

Social Media Posts Guidelines

Social media posts MUST include:

• Name or handle of source in brackets.
• FULL TEXT of post (hashtags, emojis and links optional)
• Post titles for excepted social media posts must still be descriptive of the content (no clickbait-y titles)
• Ex: [Rosenthal] Kwan resigns with Guardians. 20 years, $5billion

Don't post:

• Social media posts serving only as a link to an article (post article instead)
• News or rumors posted by unknown or unverified identities

No Self-Promotion

Follow Reddit’s site-wide guidelines on self-promotion

• Content creators are expected to be active members of the /r/ClevelandGuardians community first and foremost
• You may NOT spam other posts with links to your website/content
• Vote manipulation, attempting to subvert the rules by asking others to submit your content for you, or using alternate accounts, will result in permanent bans

Also:

• Spamming articles/content about a specific event/cause/agenda falls under this rule

Alternative Streaming Options

Posts or comments referencing methods or sites that aim to enable users to bypass MLB's local market blackout rules are STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

This includes the use of VPNs or any website that illegally streams games.

Content will be removed and, at moderator discretion, users may also be temporarily or permanently banned from our community.

Paywall Rules

Feel free to share:

• Links to the official page for paywalled content (e.g. a link to an Insider article from ESPN)

DO NOT:

• Provide access to content behind a paywall in any way, including re-hosting content on other sites or posting content in text posts/comments
• Request others provide you access to paywalled content
• Share links to game streams
• Posts/comments violating these rules will be removed, and users will be warned/suspended/banned accordingly

Team Name Change & Old Imagery

Moderators may, at their discretion, remove posts and comments regarding the team's name change. We welcome healthy discussion but will not tolerate content that incites arguing and poo-throwing.

Moderators may also, at their discretion, remove posts and comments showing the old name, logos, and mascots when necessary. The former name is part of the team's history, but use of that imagery to promote a political stance or to incite arguing on the sub will not be tolerated.

POSTSEASON ONLY: Ticket Sales/Giveaways

####DURING THE REGULAR SEASON... Ticket sale posts are permitted, with the following caveats:

• Tickets are sold at/under face value
• Tickets are first come, first serve
• The mods of r/ClevelandGuardians have no responsibility or liability in the purchase and transaction of the sale. You assume all risk.

####ALL TICKET SALES ARE PROHIBITED DURING THE POSTSEASON! Threads selling or exchanging tickets during that time will be removed.

Moderator discretion may apply.

Miscellaneous

• URL shorteners in posts or comments will be removed
• Posts soliciting any kind of donations (e.g. GoFundMe) will be removed (this includes all charities)
• Posts and comments from accounts less than 5 days old with less than 3 karma are subject to immediate automatic removal. This is for anti-spam purposes. If your submission is caught in this filter, please message the moderators to have your account approved.

Moderator Discretion

Moderators may, at their discretion, remove posts and comments, including:

• Spicy, inflammatory topics that frequently result in flamewars and locked threads
• Multiple posts about the same topic

Antagonizing

Don’t call out each other. We’re all in this together.
