r/CanadianConservative Subreddit Rules

1

Civility

Discussion and disagreement are welcome, but users must remain civil toward one another. Personal attacks, insults, harassment, name-calling, or attempts to provoke other users derail discussion and reduce the quality of discourse.

Criticize ideas, policies, and public figures — not other users. Persistent hostility or inflammatory behavior may result in removal or further moderation action.

2

Racism

Racist content or remarks are not permitted. This includes statements that demean, attack, or generalize negatively about individuals or groups based on race or ethnicity.

Political discussion involving immigration, demographics, or public policy is allowed; however, it must remain focused on policy and argumentation rather than racial hostility or discrimination.

3

Spam

Spam, excessive self-promotion, or repetitive article submissions are not allowed. Users should avoid flooding the subreddit with multiple similar posts or promotional content.

Moderators may remove submissions that appear primarily intended to advertise, farm engagement, or dominate discussion rather than contribute meaningfully.

This rule primarily applies to submissions and not normal participation in comment discussions.

4

Brigading

Brigading, vote manipulation, or cross-subreddit interference is strictly prohibited.

This includes:

  • Directing users to participate in discussions or voting in other communities,
  • Linking to other subreddits in ways that encourage interference,
  • Posting screenshots or content intended to mobilize users against another community.

These restrictions exist to comply with Reddit’s sitewide policies and to protect the subreddit from admin action.

5

Low-Effort Content

Content should contribute meaningfully to discussion. Low-effort submissions - including memes, shitposts, reaction posts, or low-quality text posts - may be removed at moderator discretion.

Posts should aim to encourage discussion, provide information, or present substantive commentary. Repeated low-effort posting may result in further moderation action.

6

Editorialized Headline

Submission titles must match or accurately quote the article headline.

Editorialized, misleading, or altered titles that change the meaning or framing of an article are not permitted. Users may add commentary within the post or comments, but titles must remain faithful to the source material.

7

Mission Statement

r/CanadianConservative exists for discussion primarily focused on Canadian politics, public policy, and cultural issues from a conservative perspective.

Posts/comments may be removed if they focus mainly on international politics or foreign leaders, contain only minimal or superficial Canadian relevance, or are framed in bad faith to provoke, agenda-post, or derail discussion rather than encourage substantive engagement related to Canadian conservatism.

8

Duplicate Post

Duplicate submissions covering the same topic or article within a short timeframe may be removed to keep discussion centralized.

Users are encouraged to continue discussion in the existing active thread rather than creating new posts on the same subject.

9

Paywalled Articles

Posts linking to paywalled articles must include a freely accessible version of the content.

The submitter is required to provide a link to a non-paywalled or bypassed version of the article (e.g., archive link) in the comments.

Failure to do so may result in the post being removed.

Violation reason: Paywalled Article (No Bypass Posted)
