This is Reddit's home for CRPG subgenre! CRPGs are characterized by the adaptation of tabletop RPGs to computers and, later, consoles. These games tend to emphasize role-playing, character customization, and player autonomy. The subgenre has since evolved with its own conventions separate from tabletop RPGs, but at its core, it still continues to be influenced by its tabletop roots.
