Post Guidelines:

• Posts should demonstrate why pit bulls are dangerous. No convo screenshots, memes, breed guessing, or appearance-mocking. Use the discussion thread for non incidents.
• Attacks should be <12 months old with date/location in title & text. Redact any person’s identifying info.
• No FB, X, IG, or TikTok links. YouTube at mod discretion.
• Title graphic content with [WARNING: GRAPHIC] + mark NSFW/Spoiler.

Do Not Advocate Needless Violence, Animal Abuse, or Criminal Activity

We do not encourage nor tolerate any posts or comments calling for animals or humans to be needlessly harmed.

This includes comments describing what someone “should have done” during an attack or suggesting weapons, methods, or levels of force. These discussions routinely lead to admin removals.

Follow Civility Guidelines:

Treat other users with respect. Occasional disagreement, debate, and mild swearing are fine, but harassment, name calling, personal attacks, intimidation, or persistent snide or argumentative behavior directed toward other users or mods is not tolerated.

Following users here from other subreddits (or vice versa) in order to harass them is not allowed.

Do not release personal information that isn’t already public or shared by the user.

No Thoughtless Pit Apologism

Participation in this subreddit requires good faith. Bad faith arguments will get you banned. Examples include:

"But I have a pit and it's the sweetest dog ever!"

"Chihuahuas are more aggressive."

"It's all in how you raise them."

"Discrimination against pits is like discrimination against black people; you guys are racists."

"There's no such thing as a pit bull."

We are not interested in pictures of your pit bull.

No Victim Blaming or Derailing

Being involved in or witnessing a pit bull attack can be a traumatic event that has life-long repercussions.

As this is a subreddit meant to be a safe space for people who have undergone this type of trauma, we will not tolerate victim blaming.

Debate and discussion are welcome, but please observe tact and empathy. Tone policing is not allowed.

Debate is not allowed in posts where people are sharing their trauma or asking for advice/support.

Racism and Bigotry Against Humans Will Not Be Tolerated

Racism, sexism, ableism, and classism are not tolerated.

Humans are not dogs, and dog breeds are not analogous to human races. Making this comparison is insulting to humans.

No Dogfree or Anti-Dogfree Statements, No Anti-cat sentiments, no victim blaming on outdoor cats

We do not allow posts or comments containing broad anti-pet or anti-pet ownership sentiment, including terms like “dog nutters.”

Discussions about dog culture must relate specifically to pit bulls. Opinions on outdoor cats are off topic.

Cat hate is not permitted.

Stay on Topic

Posts/comments should be related to the inherent dangers of, the banning of, or the disinformation surrounding pit bull-type dogs.

Please refrain from debating guns, politics, religion, or other off-topic issues in this subreddit.

Fundraiser Rules

Only Gofundme fundraisers may be linked and must mention the breed responsible for the attack. Any other payment apps etc, are not allowed. Moderators reserve the right to remove any fundraiser or ask for additional verification. Users should report suspicious activity to the moderation team via modmail.

Propaganda Guidelines

Propaganda must be refutable.

Merchandise with pit bulls on it, pro-pit bull memes, AI arguments, and apologists spreading misinformation are propaganda that we do not allowed.

The type of propaganda that we allow must be centered on flawed statistics, obfuscation of data, or pseudoscientific "research" about pit bulls.

Images containing propaganda must be marked with a red x. If referencing a flawed or pseudoscientific study, title should note it is for refutation purposes.
