Keep "what if" questions reasonable.
"What if" questions (also known as counter-factual questions) should include an explanation of what legitimate historical information you're looking for. "What if Lincoln had not been assassinated" should include the question "How did presidential and congressional reconstruction plans differ?"
We cannot and will not entertain butterfly-effect style questions. You can take such questions to r/WritingPrompts or r/HistoryWhatIf/
No AI-generated content
This is an "ask" sub, and a discussion sub. Please do not post AI-generated posts or comments. If using this reason to report content please be sure its a bot, and not just someone with an annoying typing style.
No low-effort posts
Posts must at minimum have enough accompanying text to contextualise and clarify your question and should be complex enough that they can't be sorted with a single, simple search engine query.
No homework or curriculum posts
Do not request help on homework assignments or with creating a curriculum. This includes posting surveys.
No promotional content of any kind
Don't promote your stuff in the sub. Posting or linking your youtube channel / blog / insta / ebook / facebook / app / gofundme, survey, research project or any other self-interested service, product, platform or content - creative or otherwise - will result in an instant and permanent ban.
