r/Allahabad Subreddit Rules

1

Respect and dignity

Treat everyone with respect. Healthy disagreement, criticism, and debate are welcome, but personal attacks, insults, harassment, hate, name-calling, and attempts to demean or intimidate others are not. Criticism of ideas, opinions, moderation decisions, organizations, businesses, and public actions is allowed. Attacks on individuals are not. Keep discussions constructive and focused on the topic rather than the person behind it.

Violation reason: Breaking of rule 1
2

Constructive City Discussions, No Political Debates

Discussions about local issues and city-related concerns are welcome, but they must remain constructive and respectful. Political debates, partisan arguments, and divisive rhetoric are not allowed. Posts or comments that spread hate toward any individual or group will be removed. Repeated violations may result in a permanent ban. Keep discussions solution-focused and free from hostility.

Violation reason: Breaking Rule #2 Political Content
3

Stay On-Topic

Posts should focus on the city and topics directly related to it. Off-topic discussions, spam, or irrelevant posts may be removed to keep the community relevant and engaging.

Violation reason: Breaking Rule #3 Irrelevant
4

Original Content

Whenever possible, share original photos, stories, or insights. Avoid posting content lifted from other platforms unless properly credited.

Violation reason: Breaking Rule #4 Not OC
5

Respect Privacy

No doxxing, sharing of personal information, or posts that invade someone’s privacy. Respect the boundaries of others, whether they’re public figures or private citizens.

Violation reason: Breaking Rule #5 Invading Privacy
6

Follow Reddit Etiquette

Uphold Reddit’s core principles: no trolling, spamming, or low-effort content. Keep conversations constructive, and avoid unnecessary drama.

Violation reason: Breaking Rule #6 No Etiquette
7

No Creepy Behavior

Posts or comments like "DM for sex" or any form of objectification are not allowed. This is a community space, not a platform for inappropriate requests or creepy behavior. Keep discussions relevant and respectful to ensure a safe environment for all. Violations may result in removal.

Violation reason: No Creepy or Off-Topic Content
8

No Soliciting or Discussing Illegal Substances

Asking for places to buy narcotics, weed, cannabis, or other addictive substances is strictly prohibited. This is not the platform for such discussions. Posts or comments violating this rule will be removed, and repeat offenses may lead to further action. Keep it clean and legal!

9

Mandatory Official or Unofficial Label for Meetups

All meetup posts must clearly state whether they are Official or Unofficial in the title. Only meetups organized by the r/Allahabad moderation team are official; all others must be labeled "UNOFFICIAL." This rule ensures transparency, prevents misrepresentation, and protects user safety, as moderators do not verify unofficial organizers. This applies mainly to new or starting communities-once a community is established and trusted, it may post meetups without labeling as unofficial.

10

Mandatory Promotional Flair for Self-Promotion

Any post that promotes a personal project, business, service, event, page, or content must use the Promotional flair. Promotional content posted under any other flair will be removed, and reposting the same content using a different flair is prohibited. This rule exists to prevent disguised advertising and maintain clarity between promotional and non-promotional content. No exemptions apply.

11

Donations, Fundraisers, and Monetary Requests

Public requests for money or fundraising of any kind are strictly prohibited. This includes donation appeals, payment details, charity claims, or links to external fundraising platforms. This rule exists to prevent scams, misuse of funds, and pressure-based solicitation. Exceptions require prior moderator approval and full transparency; intent does not override this rule.

12

No Personal Callouts, Witch Hunts, or Private DisputesKeep Discussions Constructive and Relevant

Criticism and disagreement are welcome. However, posts focused on personal disputes, private grievances, unverified allegations, or the private lives of individuals are generally not appropriate and may be removed. When raising concerns about a person, organization, or community initiative, keep the discussion relevant to the community and be prepared to support serious claims with credible evidence. Questions regarding moderation decisions should be through modmail first.
